Forum of Sand, Berlin 1988. Update 2010.

The incompleteness of West Berlin’s Kulturforum is formalized by a voided centre of sand, the unstable material on which the city is built.
Two new architectural objects — a relocated bridge and vertical car park towers — orchestrate the recomposition. The result is a reduced Forum containing a Café of the North and a Café of the South.
